Sailing with Ivana

Those of you who were on last year's Croatia trip know Ivana Jurič as an excellent guide. However, her first love is sailing and she owns three boats with her boyfriend and runs Sail Charter in Croatia. Here are some ideas she had for us, only slightly edited:

Saturday 23 May, 5.30.pm getting on board in Trogir. Since you are spending the previous night in a hotel in Trogir, why spend money on transfer from Split to Trogir when the boats can come and pick you up there! The boats should be ready by 3pm, and they can be in Trogir by 5.30buba in action . Then nice and short drive to Maslinica (1.5 hours with engine), just so that everybody gets used to new environment. Short evening walk to a little church at the top of the hill (with nice view, maybe sunset!)
Dinner in Maslinica

Sunday 24 May, morning- sailing towards Vis. Afternoon in Vis, we can do some 'light' sightseeing, walk around... Vis is truly a beautiful place! Dinner in 'Pojoda' (one of the restaurants I mentioned earlier, superb food, not to miss!)

Monday 25 May, morning- sailing around north coast of Vis to Komiza (a beautiful peaceful fishing village). If we set sail early enough, we can stop by at Bisevo and visit the beautiful Blue cave (I think they charge it 20 or 25 kuna per person- 3-4€). However it has to be sunny, otherwise it is not so blue... After that, continue to Komiza. Evening in one of the local 'konoba's'.

Tuesday 26 May- sailing along the south coast of Vis and stopping at different bays (for lunch, swimming...) Sailing on towards marina Palmizana (Pakleni islands- the ones in front of Hvar. I hope you still remember them!) From Palmizana we can take a speedboat ride to Hvar (15 minutes), and spend the evening there, or if the mayority of the group was there last year, we can skip Hvar and organise dinner on Palmizana (also a very nice restaurant- 'Meneghello')

Wednesday 27 May- sailing towards Vrboska and Jelsa (two nice peaceful places on the north coast of Hvar island) or Starigrad (the place where we got off the ferry last year.

Thursday 28 May- sailing towards Brac island, around famous Golden Horn beach (Zlatni Rat) in Bol, and stopping in a little bay on the south coast of Brac. From here we can organise a walk to a famous Blaca monastery (walking slowly uphill for about 1.5 hours, 2km), but it is really worth it. They have a little museum there, really a special place. Maybe it would also be possible to organise dinner there, although they don't have a restaurant. But we did it once and it was great, (we were eating lamb in the middle of a museum!!!)
Fishing?

Friday 29 May- sailing towards Bobovisca, stopping at fish breeding place on our way and buying fresh fish! Continuing towards Split. Evening in marina 'Split'. Depending on the budget that's left from all those days of eating and drinking, we can either organise a special goodbye dinner in one of the restaurants, or if we are full from fish we had for lunch, a light dinner in the marina. Those who haven't been to Split before can take a 20min walk to the city centre. And those who are too tired can just go to sleep on board...

Now, this is just one of the numerous possibilities. I picked a nice and short route, so that we avoid spending too much time sailing, but each day have enough free time on shore. All the details of this itinerary can be changed, naturally, this is just the way I would do it...

Uf, I'm dying with this letter. Please check it and write back!

Ivana
