| Wed. Oct. 28: Depart San Antonio on Mexicana Air Lines Flight #831 at 10:45 a.m, arrive Mexico City at 12:40. Clear customs (don’t pick up luggage) Depart Mexico City on Mexicana Air Lines Flight #223 at 2:15 pm, arrive Oaxaca at 3:10 p.m. Airport transfer on arrival to Marques del Valle Hotel (01152951633677). Dinner at Restaurante Catedral. Thurs. Oct. 29: Breakfast at the nearby TerraNova restaurant. 9:00 am: Guided tour to Monte Albán archaeological site, then to Santa Maria Atzompa (green pottery). Lunch at El Patio restaurant in Atzompa. 3:00 pm: Orientation/cultural tour of the historic center of Oaxaca. Evening free. Fri. Oct. 30: Breakfast at TerraNova. 9:00 am--10:00 am lecture on Day of the Dead traditions by Mary Jane Mendoza. 10:00 am--1:00 free time. 1:00 pm guided tour of Cuilapan Monastery, then to Arrazola (wood carving village). Return to hotel at 5:00 pm. 7:00 pm Guelaguetza dinner and performance at Camino Real. Sat. Oct. 31: 8:00 am guided tour of the Juarez market, 8:30 breakfast at Abuelita, one of Oaxaca’s oldest breakfast stalls in the market. Free time, 6:00 pm dinner at Los Pacos, followed by cemetery tour to Xoxocotlan. 10:30 pm: Return to hotel. Sun. Nov. 1: Breakfast at TerraNova. 8:00 am guided tour to Mitla archaeological site, famous for its many geometric mosaics. Then to Teotitlan del Valle to see a weaving demonstration and to view their magnificent, richly colored rugs. 1:00 pm return to hotel. Afternoon free. Dinner at Hosteria Alcalá. Mon. Nov. 2: Breakfast at TerraNova. 11:00 am check-out, ground transport to airport. Depart Oaxaca on Mexicana Air Lines Flight #216 at 12:20 pm., arrive Mexico City at 1:15 pm. Depart Mexico City on Mexicana Air Lines Flight #832 at 5:30 pm, arrive San Antonio at 7:25 pm.
